2025 Milestone - GenX Turning 60

Updated: Feb 13

If you were born in 1965, which is the start year of Generation X, the oldest of us turned 60 on January 1. 😱😮 It all happened so fast! 🙃😏 I am still in my Fabulous 50s (which I have enjoyed sooooooo much). My time will come, however and God willing, in September.

As I await turning 60, I am thinking about a lot of things. Kinda like they reported that Hoda Kotb said as she was turning 60, she realized she wanted to give more time to her young daughters (and possibly I heard NBC cut salaries????). No matter how you cut it, if you are fortunate to make it to our Generation X ages, ranging from those born between 1965 to 1980, you should be grateful to be our age. I am also speaking to our Boomer sisters born between 1960 to 1964. It's time to take stock on how you want to live the rest of your life. Reading that statement, your mind may interpret it as overwhelm, but it needs to be done and we can take it a bite at a time right here on this blog. I am journeying with you friend.

We were called the latchkey kids and the MTV generation. We watched rap emerge as a music genre that would shake up the world. We grew up in a world without social media (thank goodness 🙈) but adapted like pros. We’ve raised kids, built careers, and nurtured families. Married people we loved or ended up hating or chose to stay single. But we have handled life’s ups and downs with grit and grace. But, our story is far from over. Our success as a person is not based upon how well we have taken care of others, but how well we are taking care of ourselves.

If you have fallen in that crack where you don't know who you are any more, this space offers you a safe space to recapture your SELF.

Experiencegenx.com/Xperiencegenx.com is your GenX guide to living vibrantly, staying healthy and aging beautifully.  This blog is a deep dive for living our best lives as older people even though we don't think we're older people.

We will venture into:

  • Lifestyle - Come with me on my life adventures and see what I do to stay well-rounded and feel good.

  • Travel: Whether it’s solo trips, girlfriend getaways, or luxurious retreats, we’ll explore what can open your eyes to new experiences.

  • Beauty & Fashion: Skincare, makeup, and style for women who know that looking good isn’t about chasing youth—it’s about confidence.

  • Health & Wellness: Fitness, nutrition, and mental well-being because feeling good is just as important as looking good.

  • Tech: Staying savvy in a digital world, trying new gadgets, and making life easier with smart solutions.

  • Relationships: We'll explore relationship well-being with your significant other, children, friends, extended family, co-workers etc.

  • Sex: Yes, GenY and GenZ, GenX people have sex and want to have lots of sex but this can sometimes be challenging.

I want to redefine and put it out there what it means to be a woman in her 40s, 50s and beyond. No apologies, no limits—just possibilities.

Are you with me? Yes?! Let’s roll.

I'm Deirdre your fellow GenX bestie and we'll live our best lives together.

Cheers! 💋

Me on my 5th birthday.
